Gordo's restaurant was established in 1986 by owners Eddie and Al Algramonte. The brother's came to Miami in 1975 and in 1980 attended Florida State University. After graduating with a degree in hospitality, they opened the first Gordo's restaurant on Pensacola Street in 1986. The restaurant was the first Cuban restaurant in Tallahassee and it was a great success. Six years later, the second Gordo's restaurant was opened in downtown Tallahassee serving the same great food.
